Mistletoe Wand

GBP 25.00

A curved wand made from a piece of seasoned mistletoe wood that dropped from an apple tree of one of the Glastonbury apple orchards. It measures 31 cm long.

Mistletoe is a parasitic plant that grows high in the branches of host trees, feeding from them, while still producing their own energy from their own evergreen leaves. The climate of the south-west of Britain especially seems to suit mistletoe and it’s especially obvious in the winter when its host trees lose their leaves. Mistletoe is a sacred plant to the Druids, and is associated with magic - especially love magic.

Raven has been making wands for decades, and their work has flown around the globe to Witches and Magical Practitioners on many continents. Wands are made of gathered, not harvested wood usually found locally in the South West of England (and a few from further afield) and are often ornamented with pyrography. Each wand is finished with handmade beeswax polish from happy local bees and will come to you in a simple bag made from upcycled fabric.

While each wand is unique, Raven is sometimes willing to consider make a wand in a similar style for you from the same or a different wood.
