Limestone Hag Stone Pendant for Luck and Protection

GBP 10.00

This naturally holed Limestone Hag stone is one that I found on a beach in Dorset. It hangs on a generous length of waxed cotton cord with loose ends so you can tie it to the length you desire along with a reclaimed glass bead.

I carefully select hag stones for their beauty - this one is lovely ! Tactile and interesting to hold.

It's about 4cm across and its longest point.

Stones with Holes through them are thought, in folklore, to be very lucky and are used to draw luck to you and also for protection. It is also thought that one can see through the veils into the fey realms by looking through the hole. The are also called hag stones, adder stones and sometimes chicken gods! It's interesting to google names and stories.

While the holes in flint hag stones are made by the sea dissolving the chalk around which they formed, the holes in limestone is made by molluscs called piddocks eating the stone.

A perfect gift for someone who needs some extra luck in their lives, or for yourself.
