the wood was sanded smooth and I’ve left the gorgeous knot in the handle running along its length.

Holly is one of the trees often associated with the Celtic Ogham Tree Alphabet where it is connected with protection from challenges. It is also associated with Yule and the Winter Solstice, and the Holly King who rules the dark half of the year.
