Ash Root Athame with Upcycled Silver Plated Blade

GBP 25.00

The handle of this athame is made from a piece of Ash root, I found after a storm in Cornwall - the tree was partially blown over and many of it's roots broken. The blade is made from a piece of vintage cutlery. Amazingly, once the branches were removed, the stump righted itself and is regrowing. trees are amazing!

This athame measuring about 25 inches from end to end, I've pyrographed a spiral into the wood at the end.

The Athame is a ritual tool of the witch, intended for magical work and not for cutting physical items.

The blade is blunt, and made from silver plated metal and is not able to be sharpened. It has some scratches owing to age - which I feel gives it character.

Ash wood is associated with the world tree and astral travel. the Norns live at it's roots, so this would be highly appropriate for work with them
