A gorgeous set of handmade English Ash wood runes, made from a branch of Ash wood that was storm-felled from a tree that grows close to the Isle of Avalon near to Glastonbury.
The runes are about 2.5-3cm cm in diameter and are handmade and are of the norse elder futhark system (please check photos for scale - penny not included).
This is a set of Elder Futhark Runes -there are 24 runes and one blank rune should an accident befall one or if you follow the more modern tradition of working with a blank rune for wyrd.
Ash wood is often named as the Norse World Tree - Yggrasil - making it a highly appropriate wood to make runes from. Within the Celtic Tree Ogham system and in wider Celtic mythology it’s associated with connection and communication.
You will receive a set similar, but perhaps not identical to that pictured. Your set of runes will arrive in a bag made from upcycled fabric and with a basic information sheet.
